What we do

Our hazardous waste services

Hazardous Waste Transport

We are licensed to collect and transport a wide range of hazardous waste streams including chemicals, oils, solvents, and contaminated materials. Our drivers hold ADR qualifications for the transport of dangerous goods, and all movements are fully documented with consignment notes.

Asbestos Removal Support

We work alongside licensed asbestos removal contractors to provide transport of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) to approved disposal sites. All loads are double-bagged, labelled, and transported in sealed vehicles.

Secure Containment

All hazardous loads are transported in appropriate sealed containers with secondary containment. We carry the correct PPE and spill kits on every vehicle handling hazardous materials.

Full Documentation

Every hazardous waste movement is accompanied by the required consignment notes and waste transfer documentation. We keep records for the legally required period and can provide copies on request.

Asbestos guidance

Asbestos — What You Need to Know

  1. Asbestos was widely used in UK buildings constructed before 2000. It can be found in roof tiles, floor tiles, pipe lagging, ceiling tiles, and textured coatings such as Artex.

  2. Disturbing asbestos releases microscopic fibres that, when inhaled, can cause serious and fatal lung diseases including mesothelioma and asbestosis.

  3. Only licensed asbestos removal contractors (licensed by the HSE) may remove most forms of asbestos. GNG provides the transport element once removal is complete.

  4. All asbestos waste must be double-wrapped in heavy-duty polythene, clearly labelled, and transported to a licensed disposal site — we handle all of this.

  5. If you suspect asbestos in your property, stop work immediately, do not disturb the material, and call a professional. We can advise on next steps.

Important

Before You Contact Us

Please do not attempt to bag, move, or dispose of any hazardous waste or asbestos before speaking to us. We need to assess the material, confirm the correct waste codes, arrange appropriate transport, and book a licensed disposal facility. Providing accurate information about the waste type and quantity helps us give you a fast, accurate quote. We cover Hartlepool, Teesside, County Durham, and the wider North East.

GNG Waste Management Ltd is a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency (licence no. CBDU114245), holds the necessary licences for hazardous waste transport including asbestos-containing materials, and our drivers are ADR qualified for the carriage of dangerous goods.
